Crocheted Drawstring Bag with Side Pocket

I made this as a gift for my grandmother, who recently took up embroidery. The bag holds skeins and skeins of embroidery floss, and the outer pocket keeps the scissors and needles.
Made with a size “K” hook and bulky (5) acrylic yarn.

Bag
With Color #1, ch 4. Join with sl st to form ring.
Rnd 1: ch 1, 12 sc in ring. Join. 12 sts.
Rnd 2: ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in first sc. 2 dc in each sc around. Join. 24 sts.
Rnd 3: ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in first dc. 2 dc in each dc around. Join. 48 sts.
Rnds 4-13: ch1. Sc in each st around. Join. 48 sts.
Rnd 14: ch 1. Sc in each of next 20 sts. Working in back loops only, sc in each of next 6 sc. Sc as normally in each remaining sc. Join.
Rnds 15-26: ch 1. Sc in each st around. Join.
Rnd 27: ch 2 (counts as first hdc). hdc in each of next 4 sc. (Ch 1, sk next sc, hdc in each of next 5 sc) around. Join with sl st to top of ch-2. 40 sts and 8 ch-1 sp.
Rnd 28: ch 1. Sc in each st around. Join. 48 sts.
Rnd 29: ch 9. Sk next 6 sc, sc in next sc. (Ch 8, sk next 6 sc, sc in next sc) around. Join, finish off, and weave ends in. 8 ch-8 loops.

Pocket
Row 1: With Color #2, join with sc to furthest right free loop (made by rnd 14) on bag. Sc in each loop. Join with sl st to nearest left post of sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each sc across. Join with sl st to nearest right post of sc.
Rows 3 & 4: Repeat Row 1 and Row 2 again.
Row 5: Repeat Row 1. After joining, finish off and weave ends in.

Drawstring
With Color #2, ch 109.
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook. sc in each st across. Finish off.

Put drawstring through sp between hdcs (made in rnd 27), alternating as shown. Make a knot in the end of the cord.
